The Team

Catamount Films is the production company created by Gabriel Baca and Daniel Glick for A Place to Stand. The name is inspired by an experience that Daniel, Gabe, and Esai Baca had while walking in the Hollywood Hills. Howling, and the sounds of footsteps ten feet above, disrupted their conversation about the film. They realized, as they hustled back to the car, that it was a mountain lion stalking them. Gabe looked up the Native American significance of the experience and found this: don’t be selfish – remember your aim. As a reminder, they named their company after the “catamount,” another name for mountain lion.
